Octagonal 42" barrel with ornate brass front and rear sights. Stamped “W.M. LARGE 51079” on left side near breech. W.M. (Bill) Large lived from 1907 until 1985 and was well-known for making quality barrels that are extremely accurate in his Irontown, Ohio shop. The flat lock with an engraved border, appears to be handmade; double set triggers. Full length figured maple stock with brass furniture. Relief carved scrolls behind cheek piece and on each side of wrist. Four-piece engraved patch box with edelweiss finial. Engraved trigger guard, side plate, nose cap, large eagle with banner above cheek piece and floral barrel key escutcheons. A very nicely-executed contemporary long rifle.
