Round 39” barrel with British military proofs on left side near breech in .79 caliber smoothbore. Contemporary handmade unusual flintlock action. Brass “India” pattern furniture, except replaced side plate. Walnut stock with two crowns for British inspection marks located behind trigger guard, replaced steel ramrod of unusual style. Bayonet with triangular blade and shortened socket, stamped “57”. Barrel with grey patina, some dark spots and scattered pitting, especially near reconverted breech. Contemporary lock with applied patina. Stock altered to fit larger lock and side plate, sanded on both sides, hole for sling swivel on forend filled with imitation wood and brass with mellow patina. Bayonet with heavy patina overall.
