Barrel is 20”, caliber is .44 WCF. Manufactured in 1916. Winchester model 1892 saddle ring carbine in .44 caliber is one of the most desirable of all Winchester carbines. This model is standard and all original. Features full round barrel, full magazine, two barrel bands, classic post front sight, folding saddle ring carbine sight, blued finish, walnut stocks. Has the original saddle ring and stud. The barrel retains approximately 70% original factory blue finish mixing with smooth plum patina with razor sharp legends. Rear barrel band has about 50-60% original blue. The frame is a pleasing mix of smooth blue-brown-gun metal patina. 80% of original blue on loading gate. Has the standard carbine butt plate. Walnut stocks are excellent to near mint with just a couple of minor marks. The forearm forward of the barrel band has a small stress crack which could easily be repaired. Strong bore with some minor black powder abrasion. Perfect action. Far above average .44 carbine. Factory research: serial number applied April 5, 1916. No other information.
