26" barrel in .45-90 caliber. This rifle was manufactured in 1895 and features full octagon barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting sights, walnut stocks, and rifle butt. This is an interesting rifle in that all metal surfaces with the exception of front and rear sights were period nickel plated. Front and rear sights have remained blued. Barrel legends are easily readable. Tang legends and serial number are light. The bolt is basically bubbled. There is freckling on forend cap, light freckling on frame, freckling on hammer. The loading gate is a blue-brown patina. Balance of the nickel plating approximately 85% is still intact, showing age. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with extra quality grain. Does have a small 1/4" chip at right front wrist at tang. Action is perfect. Strong rifled bore with some minor black powder abrasions. Pretty cool old rifle in a great caliber.
