5" barrel in .45 ACP. Manufactured 1919. Standard U.S. Army .45 caliber pistol. Frame has the eagle head inspector stamp used only in 1918 and 1919. The barrel has the intertwined "HP" used on serial numbers 425 to 710. All standard features to include blued finish, semi-automatic, magazine fed, long smooth trigger, diamond checkered walnut grips, flat smooth mainspring with lanyard, two toned magazine with no lanyard, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer, correct front and rear sights. Right side of slide is stamped "Model of 1911 U.S. Army". Frame stamped "U.S. Property". Grip straps are a mix of blue-grey patina. Slide retains 90% original factory blue with razor sharp legends and high edge wear. Frame has 80% original blue, would be much higher but it looks like there are two areas where the finish appears to have simply flaked. Excellent original diamond checkered walnut grips. Near mint bore. Fine action. Overall, extremely fine all original 1919 Colt pistol.
