Barrel length is 6-1/2", caliber is .455 Eley. This revolver was manufactured in 1940 for issued to the British Government as part of the pre war lend-lease program of supplying weapons legally to Great Britain. Left side of frame has numerous British proof marks as does cylinder. Has matching numbers on cylinder and bottom of barrel. Standard features six shot, double action, blued finish with case colored hammer and trigger, lanyard ring with S&W gold medallion diamond checkered pre war style grips. Grips are not numbered. A previous owner has etched his name on the inside of grip straps. Hammer and trigger show strong case colors. Revolver shows typical British WWII use. Barrel has several mars. Grip straps have silvered out and has wear on all high edges, and muzzle wear. Has several dents on barrel. Very good bore. Perfect action. Barrel and front sight show evidence of wiped down finish.
