5" barrel, caliber is 45 ACP. Manufactured in 1910. This pistol, the predecessor to the model 1911. Was only manufactured from 1905-1911 with a total of 6,100 produced. Features blued finish, semi automatic, magazine fed with diamond checkered walnut grips. It has the final production slide marking used from 1906 until end of production. It has the spur hammer, wind drift rear sight. Metal surfaces are basically a mix of blue/bown/grey patina smooth with some age spotting with little salt and pepper finish with forward grip strap, checkered grips show wear with no cracks. Strong clean shiny bore, fine action, very good representative piece of this very scarce Colt automatic. Factory letter indicates that this pistol was shipped on November 3rd, 1910 in a shipment of one gun to Sommer, Hermann & Co. Pueblo and Vera Cruz, Mexico. Letter further states that this pistol was returned to the factory on December 7th, 1910 and reshipped to D.L. Lowry, address unknown, December 13th, 1910.
