28" barrel in 12 bore. Manufactured in 1908. The Winchester Model 1897 Black Diamond Trap Shotgun was one of the premier pump action guns on the circuit at the turn of the century. Features a 2-3/4" chamber, choked full, with single bead sight, takedown action, blued finish, finely checkered walnut forend, and an English style checkered walnut buttstock with inset black diamonds at wrist and a Winchester red rubber recoil pad (newer replacement). This shotgun retains approximately 95% of the beautifully reapplied blued finish with sharp legends. Wood is excellent with no cracks and has been freshened up. Perfect action. Clean shiny bore. The bolt is stamped "Trap Gun". This was beautifully redone at one time and is in excellent condition.
