6" barrel in .38 LC caliber. Manufactured in 1899. This revolver is part of the series of revolvers that introduced the swing-out cylinder to the Colt product line. It is referred to as the Model 1892, 1894, 1895, 1896, 1901, and 1903, technically this is an 1896. It is a six shot, double action, blued finish, with black composite logo grips. This revolver also featured the Nitre blue small parts and screws, as well as back of hammer and trigger. The hammer, trigger, and several screws still retain a majority of this Nitre blue finish. Grip straps have greyed out, otherwise the revolver remains at 75% of the original high polish factory blue so eagerly sought by collectors on guns made prior to 1914. Grips are near mint. Perfect action. Strong clean bore.
