5" barrel in .38 Super caliber. Offered is one of the most desirable post-war semi-automatic Colts ever made. It is the classic Pre-Series 70 Model 1911 with factory nickel finish, factory letter, in the scarce .38 Super cartridge. It is estimated that only 2% of the total production of Pre-Series 70 post-war Colt .38 Supers were finish in nickel. This example is nearly flawless. Bright polished nickel sides, perfect satin nickel top and bottom. Barely a hint of a drag line. Perfect original Colt brown composite grips. Original nickel magazine. According to the factory letter, this pistol was shipped on November 10th, 1971 to Ken's Gun Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with nickel finish. Has a mint bore and action. Does not have the usual storage scratches found on nickel guns, and is in fact, as mirror of a finish as one will ever find. Comes in an original two piece box with proper end label, as well as instructions. If a finer example exists, we are not aware of it.
