24" barrel in .44-40 caliber. This rifle was shipped in February 16th, 1883 with an octagon barrel, plain trigger, checkered stock, pistol grip, half magazine, and case hardened. This rifle exists in that same configuration. The full octagon barrel is a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina with razor sharp legends and sharp edges with the original Winchester front and rear sporting sights. The frame is basically a soft grey-brown patina with some case colors in hidden recesses. Hammer has traces of case colors. The deluxe grain walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with sharp checkering and beautiful grain with the ebony inset at pistol grip. Strong clean rifled bore. Very handsome deluxe case colored 73. It appears the only thing that has been done to this gun is some stock oil has been wiped on both forend and buttstock. Rifle has a great look.
