26" barrel in .45-90 caliber. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, original Winchester sporting sights, case colored frame, lever, hammer, nose cap and walnut stocks. This is an interesting rifle in that it comes with paperwork dated August 24th, 1940 in a certificate of registration of rifle to Frederick W. Lyall, British subject Birmingham, Saskatchewan. Occupation: grain buyer. Racial origin: Irish, used for sporting purposes. It is interesting that this rifle in listed as a Winchester Model 1907 in .45-90 caliber, lever action, serial No. 89613. It has been approved by Sargent A.E. Smith of the RCMP Melville, Saskatchewan. There is also a letter detailing how this rifle was acquired from Mrs. Lyall after her husband died where she states that this rifle has been in one family since new, according to her. The barrel and tube retain generous amounts of original factory blue finish, mixing with patina, with sharp legends and edges. The left side of the frame retains approximately 20-30% case colors with the balance patterned and nickeled out. Right side of frame retains flashes of color. Loading gate has 10% blue. Bolt retains 95% of the brilliant blue. Traces of color on lever and hammer. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, never touched, no cracks, with just a few usual minor abrasions. Strong clean bore. It appears as if Mr. Lyall used and took very good care of this firearm.
