Barrel length is 6", caliber is .44 S&W Russian. These revolvers were manufactured from 1881-1888. It is a very robust double action chambered for the .44 cartridge. It was a direct competitor for the Colt Model 1878. This revolver is in the far scarcer blue configuration. Revolver retains traces of blue, balance is basically smooth brown patina. The hammer and trigger still show case colors. Matching numbers on cylinder and barrel release. Fine pair of aged ivory grips, lock up is tight, strong rifle bore, indexes perfectly. It is housed in a period double loop holster that is stamped Cameron & Sweeny, Grand Junction Colorado. Has a California clip point, unmarked cartridge belt. F.A. Cameron operated a shop in Colorado at the turn of the century. Bottom of holster has been shortened, but still in excellent condition. Beautiful western rig.
