Caliber is .44-40 W.C.F., barrel length is 5-1/2". This revolver was manufactured in 1897. Features the scarce Colt etched left panel which is still highly visible. ".44 cal." stamped on left side front trigger bow, has a perfect one lined barrel address. There are flashes of brilliant blue on forward of frame, otherwise basically a smooth gun metal grey. This revolver sports the rare checkered rosewood grips. Right grip has two small initials "G.A." Left grip panel has 11 kill notches that are period to the gun. Action is perfect, strong clean bore. It has the lanyard stud, but no ring. Comes in a period single loop holster with decorative tack pattern. The old cartridge belt has iron California clip point buckle. Clean honest example of an etched panel in rare barrel length. The holster has some splitting, busted threads at throat. Cartridge belt has some dryness.
