Round 10” steel barrel marked “DAVIDSON 1790” and the East India Company divided heart with a “4” above in center, left side near breech stamped with British military proof marks including two crossed scepters, a crown over “4” and “AD” for maker Davidson. High quality flintlock with roller frizzen, thumb safety behind cock and waterproof pan. Beveled lock plate signed “D. Egg” for well-known and quality maker Durs Egg (1745-1831). Partially figured walnut stock with cane grip with flat panels on each side surrounded by checkering. Engraved steel trigger guard, ramrod ferrules and butt cap. Good condition with spotted grey patina on all steel surfaces. Stock with scattered marks from use, some wear to checkering, small chips above rear lock plate tang, and a crack on right side towards muzzle.
