This carved piece of Oriental ivory depicts a scene with several figures outside of a home. The figures are dressed in Oriental garb with black hair and eyes. There are two figures near a tree and bridge, while other sits near the water. In the water, there is a boat with two figures inside. This decorative piece of ivory rests on top of a metal inlay wooden stand. The ivory is approximately 8-1/4 x 2-3/4 inches. Overall the piece is approximately 8-3/4 x 4-1/2 inches. The carving is in good condition, however there is slight wear to the piece overall. The staining that was used for the hair and eyes has faded. The bridge façade is stained brownish orange. The wood component has taken some wear to it, with the inlay deficient in some places. There is discoloring on the wood with some scratches. The underside of the base has taken the most ware, with scratches and spilled varnish along with a sticker.
