Bisque socket head incised "L 15 C" with dark multi stroked eyebrows, blue paperweight eyes, painted upper & lower lashes, mauve eye shadow, open mouth with upper teeth, lip shading strokes, and pierced ears. On a Gesland body with stockinet covering a wire armature with composition shoulder plate and lower arms and legs (composition refinished). She has a cork pate and a replaced blonde wig with the bangs and long curls. Re-costumed in beige silk, lace and layers of undergarments, an antique straw hat and leather shoes. Wear on shoes, & eyelets are broken. Along with an advertising card from the Gesland shop. Encyclopedia of French Dolls, lists the LC mark as an unidentified manufacturer. Gesland did not make their own heads. No damage noted on bisque head. Large, impressive doll.
