This large wooden blanket chest has an orange and red base with a swirl design on the chest. This painted design is only visible on three sides and the lid of the chest. The back side of the chest is not painted and the dovetails are visible. The molding and feet of the chest are painted green. The piece is not signed and the interior of the chest is deficient of any ornamentation. On the interior of the chest, there is a smaller compartment on the upper left, with its own lid. The chest locks and is approximately 42 x 20-¾ x 19-5/8”. The feet raise the chest approximately 5-¾” off of the ground.Overall the chest is in good condition, however there are cracks in the paint along with it being worn in some places or chipped off. There are divots and nicks in the wood. The lock and key are modern, while the previous hole for the original lock has been filled in.
