This lot consists of two special Steiff editions. The first is the Teddy Bear Tea Party set. It was made from 1982-1985 and features four total 16 cm fully jointed, traditionally styled mohair bears sitting around a table and having a tea party. The bears are caramel, white, brown, and blonde. The china tea set is white with red trim, and branded with the Steiff logo and bears. The box doubles as the vignette for the set and includes a tea table; the box is decorated to appear like the inside of a cozy living room. The outer box is in fair to poor condition and is missing a side panel; however, the contents are in clean, excellent condition and are not impacted by this. The set was produced in an edition size of 10,000; this is set number 9,499. The second item in this lot is a child-sized porcelain tea set for four. It is decorated with a sweet “Teddy Rose” and matching pink floral design. It was produced in collaboration with Roehler, Germany in 1994; the pieces do not appear to have ever been removed from the box. Both boxes with moderate surface dust. Condition: As noted. Tea party set includes its certificate. Provenance: A fine Maryland collection.
