19th century, c. 1800-1835. The set consists of: DEMILITRE (1/2 litre) height 5 3/4" DOUBLE DECILITRE (5th litre) height 4 1/4" DECILITRE (10th litre) height 3 1/2" DEMI-DECILITRE (20th litre) height almost 2 1/4" DOUBLE CENTILITRE (50th litre) height 2" CENTILITERE (100th litre) height just under 1 3/4" This is a CYLINDRICAL type heavy, sturdy, fine cast pieces each with the "half square" handle. This is a comprehensive set. The larger sizes were used for wine mainly, the smaller sizes for wine, brandies, or other spirits. The tiny CENTILITRE is exceptionally rare, almost as rare as the DOUBLE DECILITRE. The little mark on top lip or body or handle are all Excise marks stamped each time the capacity of the measures were tested and found to be correct. This set of six were made in France between 1800 and 1835.
