According to Vera she purchased this fellow sometime in the 1940's! Black bears are most unusual and highly sought after today by collectors regardless of manufacture. No tags or any other indication as to manufacturer but unmistakably of English origin. Impressive in size he has shoe button eyes, stitched paws and nose, a small hump on his back, swivel joints and black painted cloth pads. Mohair is fairly well intact with uniform wear, a few bald spots here and there. There are a few small (three or four) holes which allow one to see the straw stuffing within.
