Signed on the top of the blade by well-known bowie seller "Manufactured for F.C. Goergen New Orleans". Circa 1845. Blade in fine condition with 70% original polish; scratches on blade from careless cleaning, a bit of loss to the edge of the blade due to modern sharpening. German silver mounts. Checkered ebony grip. Tooled leather scabbard with German silver mounts. From the Robert Ables collection; red nail polish inventory number partially intact. Pictured in the Norm Flayderman book "The Bowie Knife" page 323.
