Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 54 - 1/2". BL: 38". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: Oval. S: Curly Maple. 19 silver inlays. This highly ornamented Kentucky half-stock rifle is decorated with 19 German silver inlays and engraving on the oval lid of the patchbox and is signed in a silverplate "W.P. Clark". All of the inlays are heavily cross-hatched with engraving and the back-action locks are marked by Joseph Golcher. The curly maple stock has a warm re-finish with a large spread-winged flying eagle inlaid on the cheekpiece.
