Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 56 - 1/4". BL: 40". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: Oval. S: Curly Maple. Eight silver inlays. This Kentucky is signed "C. Plants" and may be a western Pennsylvania rifle. The curly maple stock has a broken wrist which was repaired during its period of use and it carries a "squarish" engraved side opening patchbox. The stock has been cleaned but not refinished.
