Circa 1830 to 1840. OL: 53”. BL: 36 - 1/4”. TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. Eight silver inlays. This Kentucky rifle has a “take-down” stock for the purpose of carrying the gun in a case. Although the curly maple forestock has a different color and striping it is definitely period related to the gun’s usage and may be original. Some silver inlays are missing on the front forestock. The finial of the four-piece patchbox is a nicely engraved pineapple.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
