Circa 1820 to 1830. OL: 55 - 3/4". BL: 45". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. Incise carving. This late Lancaster rifle, signed "H. Gibbs", was converted from flintlock to percussion and is a pleasant example of his work with a good curly maple stock and "basket-weave" wrist carving as well as an engraved patchbox. The only restoration appears to be a small piece on the left front of the stock behind the nose cap. The signature "H.Gibbs" appears to have been either added or refreshed in modern times.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
