Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 47". BL: 30". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. PB: Oval. S: Walnut. SR: Wrist repair. Incise carving. Five silver inlays. This classic half-stock Kentucky rifle is signed by "A. Wurfflein, Phila." both on the barrel and the back-action percussion lock. The silver mountings are beautifully engraved and the highly-figured walnut stock is extremely well-checkered. There is an old re-glued wrist crack on the left side and the silver toe-plate is replaced.
