Circa 1830 to 1845. OL: 47 - 3/4". BL: 32 - 1/4". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. Incise carving. One silver inlay. This Kentucky rifle is signed "J.H. Johnson" in script on the shortened octagonal barrel and has his typical incised carving behind the inlaid silver oval eagle cheekpiece. It is originally made as percussion and still has an overall untouched condition with classic Franklin County style patchbox.
