Circa 1830 to 1840. OL: 60 - 3/4". BL: 45 - 3/4". TB: Octagon to round. LM: Percussion. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. Incise carving. This Kentucky rifle is a nice example of a very good condition piece, made in the percussion era, but with features of an early style. The patchbox engraving is very similar to George Feder's work although the barrel is stamped "J. Pennebecker". The gun has its original finish with no restorations and is quite long and graceful.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
