Circa 1830 to 1845. OL: 60 - 1/2". BL: 45 - 3/4". TB: Octagon to round. Re-conversion. Six brass inlays. This Kentucky fowler is signed "John Shell" and is engraved "no. 80" on the engraved sideplate. John Shell was the son of Martin Shell, an earlier Kentucky rifle gunsmith. This piece still has its old, dark finish and has a percussion lock, now converted to flintlock.
