Circa 1800 to 1815. OL: 57". BL: 41 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. Original. PB: 2-piece. S: Curly Maple. This Kentucky rifle is stamped "P. Gonter" in Roman letters and is still in its original flintlock condition. With this two-piece engraved patchbox and double set triggers, this rifle may qualify to be one of his military contract rifles as the rifle is also unornamented. The rifle is still intact and there is only one wood repair which is a half-inch by 12 inches long on the upper right side of forestock. The fairly plain curly maple stock still claims much of the original surface although it may have been waxed. If this rifle qualifies as part of a military contract, it could be considered as extremely rare, especially in its overall integrity.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
