Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 50 - 1/4". BL: 35 - 3/4". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: 4-piece. 34 silver inlays. This later ornately inlaid Kentucky rifle is unsigned but has elaborate inlay work in a somewhat non-traditional manner. The brass patchbox and elongated toe-plate have multiple piercings and the dark, old finish of the curly maple stock appears to be its original. In addition, the rifle's stock is made as a "take-down". There are several "iron strips" securing the broken wrist.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
