Circa 1830 to 1840. OL: 58 - 1/4". BL: 43 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. Obvious re-conversion and replaced. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. SR: One patched area. This Kentucky rifle, stocked in good curly mpale with an old surface, is signed by George Schroyer; however, it is another example of an "in-period" re-stock. With the exception of the replaced flintlock and a wood patch above the front of the lock, it is in good "untouched" condition, with a very pleasing patchbox, typical of George Schroyer, who was a well-known Hanover, York County PA gunsmith.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
