Circa 1800 to 1810. OL: 62 - 3/4". BL: 47". TB: Octagon to round. LM: Flintlock. Original. PB: None. S: Curly Maple. Incise carving. This pleasing fowler is signed "Lewis Fonderstmith" and still has its original Sweitser flintlock configuration intact. The "basket weave" wrist carving is the Stock's only adornment, this piece has a long, graceful appearance with a nice, dry untouched surface. There are no repairs or restorations to this rare maker-signed rifle.
