If there is a flagship for vintage slot machines, this exquisite 1899 upright double must be it. The Mills Novelty Company spared no expense in the design and execution of this model. The oak cabinet with recessed panels, carved appliques, and fluted columns has a high condition finish with enough micro scratches to look like the original finish. Showing a split in the right side panel. The ornate cast iron claw feet, reliefs of Admiral Dewey and Mozart, and other elements are very clean and undamaged. The left side accepts up to six nickels at a time, and features a replacement reverse on glass of Admiral Dewey and reticulated silver leaf. The lithograph on tin playing wheel is immaculate but is not original to this machine. The right side accepts up to six quarters at a time, and features a replacement reverse on glass that reads "Mills Dewey" with stunning reticulated silver leaf. The lithograph on tin playing wheel is original with very minor paint loss, color variation, and spotting. The center of the machine is dominated by a fine music box housed behind glass and a relief casting of Mozart and plays a short tune with each spin. 5¢ coin head front casting is a nickel plated replacement. Award casting, "Dewey", back doors and locks are also replacements. Casters on legs and music on/off handle are missing. Seven keys are included.

Condition: (Excellent).
