Circa 1810 to 1820. OL: 54 - 3/4". BL: 39 - 1/4". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. Obvious re-conversion. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. SR: Wrist repair. This signed "John Shuler" rifle is a classic example of his earlier work done shortly after he moved from Buck County to Liverpool, Perry County. The stock is in curly maple and except for a quarter-inch by 13-inch silver along the uppermost right side and an old re-glued wrist repair, the rifle is all original. Also has an old refinish and a re-conversion. His earlier rifles are quite scarce and very desirable, especially to Perry County Kentucky Rifle collectors.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
