OL: 57 - 1/2". BL: 42". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. Replaced. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. Incise carving. One silver inlay and one brass inlay. This signed "Samuel Miller" rifle has survived in very good condition, with the re-converted lock and one small piece above the lock being its only exception. Otherwise, it is a very pleasing Kentucky, typical of the upper Susquehanna School, with multiple piercings in its patchbox, with nice incised carving behind the cheek piece, and a "quarter-moon" silver inlay on the cheek piece with warm color and a fine old finish.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
