Circa 1790 to 1810. OL: 57". BL: 41 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Flintlock. Re-conversion and replaced. PB: 2-piece. S: Plain Maple. This Reading rifle is a classic example of rifles from that area, which carries earlier features. While it is a pleasing example, it has a wood restoration from the back of the barrel and lock back to the comb. A large piece of wood has been replaced and then blackened. The entire gun has then been blackened to blend in the wood repair.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
