Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 56". BL: 40 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. PB: None. S: Curly Maple. This plain Kentucky signed in script "W.D." is a classic Bedford County rifle, probably by William Defibaugh. Other than old brass wrist repair, the gun has its original finish and is long, graceful, and has a classis, beautiful Bedford County hand-made lock.
