Circa 1830 to 1845. OL: 58 - 1/4". BL: 43 - 1/2". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. 12 silver inlays. This Kentucky is another example of an upper Susquehanna "in-period re-stock" using a beautiful Adam Ernst patchbox, sideplate, silver "quarter moon" cheek inlay and his miscellaneous other brass parts along with his original "A. Ernst" signed barrel. The stock's architecture, wear plate, and half-circle inlays are very typical of the upper Susquehanna school, which is quite different from the York County style of Kentucky rifle-making.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
