Circa 1840 to 1850. OL: 52 - 1/2". BL: 38". TB: Octagonal. LM: Percussion. Original. PB: 4-piece. Incise carving. This late Kentucky stamped "Edwin Hunt, VA" on the barrel has a Lancaster marked percussion lock and a "reddish-pigmented" finish on the stock. The carving behind the cheekpiece, while typical of "Valley" gunsmiths is contemporary or modern. It is not original to the gun.
