Two-stage smoothbore brass barrel with turned cannon muzzle, engraved at breech and on each side of bands, engraved brass rib mounted below. Half moon front sight. Flat flintlock lockplate with sprigs of engraving and rounded tail. Pierced brass four-piece patchbox with light rocker panel engraving around lid. Brass inlay on each side of wrist, inlaid above cheekpiece on left side of stock with silver Moravian star and below with a German silver buck and five point star, vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon. Brass end cap on forend. Brass comb wearplate and wearplate on bottom of forend. Partially figured maple half stock. This rifle was probably an Upper Susquehanna long rifle. It appears that the stock was broken and the end cap and barrel are contemporary replacements. Reproduction lock and German silver inlays have been added. Bucks County style sideplate probably a contemporary replacement. Stock has been heavily refinished, shows some wear with scattered marks from use and a few cracks along forend. Ramrod replaced.
