Two-stage rifled barrel signed "I. GEORGE" on top flat behind rear sight. Flat stamp engraved flintlock lockplate is unmarked and has rounded rear tang. Four piece brass patchbox with lid, engraved with stylized "N" with two thin brass strips inlaid along each side and decorated with repeating triangles, every other one shaded. Brass wearplate, toeplate, comb plate, inlay above cheekpiece and brass inlays on left side of buttstock below the cheekpiece and in front of the buttplate. Toeplate with engraved head and small engraved brass diamond inlay forward of plate. Ovoid brass inlays engraved with a cross on each side of the forend. Full length figured maple stock with some faux striping and familiar Lehigh/Northern Berks County form. Very good condition. Barrel retains a dark patina overall with scattered areas of pitting, rear sight moved back about three inches, indicating barrel was possibly shortened. Lock retains mottled brown patina and has been professionally reconverted to flintlock configuration. Brass with some dark spotting and dark areas, engraving excellent. Stock has been refinished and has scattered marks from use, approximately 8" have been replaced towards muzzle.
