Georgian sword with a very recognizable two-ring turning on the top of the silver ovoid-shaped ball pommel. It is hallmarked on the obverse knuckle bow buildup “BG” in a rectangle. The quillon is turned to the right for balance, with a square ricasso base on the top of the small shell counterguard. The small pas d’ane rings dip in the center of the shells. Matching ferrules hold the center swelled grip. Straight tapered Colichemarde blade. It has a silver belt hook, top mount and long tip, while the wooden slab scabbard is covered with white pigskin. Hilt; 6-1/8”. Total: 35-1/8”. Copy of "American Silver-Hilted Revolutionary and Early Federal Swords by Daniel Hartzler", featuring this sword will be included. Sword is featured on page 40, figure 28. Excellent condition; blade retains a grey patina with scattered areas of heavy brown patina, engraving worn almost completely off blade with some light scattered marks. Hilt is excellent with grip being slightly loose, some light marks from use. Scabbard excellent with a few minor scuffs and top mount separated due to wood expanding.
