Completely American made enlisted man’s saber with a thick brass stirrup hilt and flat, slightly curved blade. Walnut grip with shallow horizontal grooves. Hilt: 5-1/4”. Total: 39-1/2”. Copy of "American Silver-Hilted Revolutionary and Early Federal Swords by Daniel Hartzler", featuring this sword will be included. Sword is featured on page 645, figure 586. Good condition; blade bears file marks and has been cleaned, some dark areas and scattered pitting. Hilt is unpolished, spine with a few minor dents and pommel bent at intersection with hilt. Wood grip shows heavy wear and has some losses near pommel on left side.
