American sword with crude, single fuller curved German-marked blade, possibly an American copy. Stamped on both sides with a moon with three spokes on each side of the face. Quality cast brass hilt in one of the most popular patterns made by American Hilters, cherry grip wound with twisted brass wire. Hilt: 5-5/8”. Total: 37-3/4”. Copy of "American Silver-Hilted Revolutionary and Early Federal Swords by Daniel Hartzler", featuring this sword will be included. Sword is featured on page 427, figure 389. Very good condition; blade retains a grey patina with some darker, heavily pitted areas. Hilt & grip excellent with a few scattered marks.
