Button capstan on a short-capped pommel with a simple silver D-guard. Bone spiral columned grips. The curved blade is an American-made copy of the European three fuller style used during the Revolutionary War. However, the fullers on this blade are roughly forged and much larger than the European and Spanish examples. The crudeness of the workmanship definitely places it in the homemade category. Blade was never blued. Hilt: 4-7/8” Total: 31-3/4”. Copy of "American Silver-Hilted Revolutionary and Early Federal Swords by Daniel Hartzler", featuring this sword will be included. Sword is featured on page 719, figure 643. Good condition, blade retains a grey patina with some scattered pitting and dark spots, edge has some losses from pitting, now cleaned. Hilt is good with some minor areas bent, somewhat polished with some pitting from corrosion and some dark spots. Grip is very good with a few horizontal age cracks.
