Simply an updated version of the Model 1878. This rifle was manufactured in Bern, Switzerland and is fitted with a full length walnut stock and forend. Blued finish, distinctive trigger guard, and rear sight. 11" round tube magazine in forend. All matching numbers. Metal is basically a smooth blue-brown clean patina. Walnut stocks are very good with usual war dings. Wrist has a period peg reinforcement. This cartridge is often referred to as the .41 Swiss rimfire. Rifle was invented in 1867 and was the first bolt action repeating rifle to be used as a military weapon. 10 lbs. Very good bore and action.
