Circa 1832-1837. Straight back blade with almost 5” sharpened false edge ground mainly from one side, marked "H. SCHIVELY, PHILAD". One piece checkered ivory handle with nickel silver side straps, S-guard, ferrule, pommel; escutcheons and four decorative pins on each side. Leather sheath believed to be original, with incised decorations and nickel silver throat. Blade sharpened but not badly scratched, point a bit rounded, a few small nicks in the edge. Handle in good condition with a couple of cracks on reverse. Sheath missing tip and side straps, frog stud a replacement, belt loop on throat missing. Ex. P.J. Tomes, Dave Petty, Mike Worley collections. Once owned by custom knife maker P.J. Tomes, this knife was displayed at a number of custom knife shows over the years.
