This early mid-19th century six shot, double action revolver is London dealer stamped on flat "Reilly 502 New Oxford St London". Matching serial numbers. Features octagon barrel, blued finish, checkered walnut one piece grips and metal butt made without lanyard. This Adams is British made with proper proofs. Frame and barrel retain generous amounts of the original high polish factory blue mixing with plum and age freckling. Cylinder is basically dark brown patina with some minor salt and pepper. Strong rifled bore with usual black powder abrasion. Excellent grips. Indexes and locks up perfectly with butter smooth action. These revolvers were extremely popular in the southern states during the great war for southern independence.
